Always Remember to Recycle Your Millennimum

by Terry J. Aman

2000 years, 2000 stars
$2000 millions up on Mars
2000 points of light have we
to witness inhumanity
2000 wars, 2000 tears
2000 private, inmost fears
2000 chips all set to fail
2000 funerals, shroud and veil ...

That is ENOUGH!

That sound ... it rings as temple bells
2000 celebrations tell
Perhaps 2000 tempests drive
2000 trumpets’ song, plus five
2000 angels toe to toe
on heads of pins proclaim below
“What's past is past … or overture,”
2000 years – as yet all pure
Histories as yet unwrit
2000 candles yet unlit
Millennia with yet no pain
As yet bright years, with yet no stain

We hold the pen of history,
Ask not by whom – ’tis we, ’tis we
Before an empty scroll, perplexed,
Stand – we decide what happens next.

Write well.
